You may no longer be sitting at the beach or pool but may still be on the prowl for your next good read. The list of newly published books out this fall is growing daily and the recommendations are enticing. For a hint of what’s coming, pull out your reading glasses and take a look here and here.
And for anyone who read Elizabeth Strout’s 2008 novel Olive Kitteridge, which won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, you will rejoice at the return of Olive this fall in a new novel by Strout, Olive, Again, due out on October 15th. Written in a similar style to the previous novel, this new book continues on in the life of an older Olive, newly remarried and still a commentator on the everyday lives and activities of her Maine neighbors and family members. And for those of you who are fans of Elizabeth Strout, you may want to check out the coming Broadway play of one of her other acclaimed books, My Name is Lucy Barton, which will star Laura Linney, arriving in New York beginning January 2020.
